2017 ACE 30.2 No House Power

I have a 2017 ACE 30.2. I only have house power when I'm hooked up to shore power or when the generator is running. Everything worked fine before. I checked the fuses that I could find, main breaker panel and the 2 breakers that have the "flags" all good. Is there a reset button at the inverter? Do I even have an inverter?

Any ideas what could be going on? New RV'er

Thanks!

You might want to check your battery "store / use" button. That has to be in the use position for things to work when not plugged in.

2017 ACE 30.2 No House Power

I just got done with the same issue. The good folks at Camping World informed me that they are quite often having to replace the solenoid that is located under the bed in your ACE. We have the same model. You’ll have to unscrew the top bed panel and remove it to get to the solenoid. Be careful of the bed supporting slats because they are made out of balsa wood and stapled in and break quite easily if you lean on them. Once you have access the solenoid will be easy to get at. There is also a 5 amp breaker right there. You might need to replace that too because the faulty solenoid has a tendency to blow that.
Where to get the solenoid? CW will tell you they don’t stock the part so you’ll have to find a real RV repair place. My advice is to buy 2. They are about 80 bucks each.

One other thing there is a 50 amp breaker next to your house batteries that may have tripped. Check that before you go for the solenoid although I’m betting it is the solenoid.

Thank you. Not very mechanically inclined, but i'll give it a try. If i push the "Use/Store" switch by the door I always hear a clicking sound and still do Does that mean the solenoid is bad or does it always make a clicking sound, good or bad?

Define "house power".

Are you talking about DC loads like lights and vent fans?
Or AC loads like TVs and microwave?

Kind of hard to see because THOR splashed it with red paint. If you look at the breaker that is on the right hand wall you will see a button sticking out. If the breaker is tripped there will be a yellow flag sticking out. You can press that button and you will see the yellow flag. Just push the flag up and it will reingage. If that is not the problem you need to move up to the solenoid that is under the bed.Click image for larger version

when you hear the clicking that means the solenoid is OK and it means the switch is OK as I had a bad switch in my unit.

Not necessarily. The solenoid may change state but the contacts may be bad.

I would check the solenoid as well. I also had a breaker that tripped that was above my solenoid- I still don't know what this piece is called, but this tripped for me....Click image for larger version

Also, when you are pressing the switch for store/use you should not just hear a "click" right there, you should hear a "clunk" that comes from where the solenoid is in the back- good to have a second person back in the bedroom.

Your 2017 ACE is probably wired differently from my 2013 ACE 30.1 which has a BCC box in the engine compartment. Inside this BCC is a circuit board and the chassis and coach battery latching relays. It also has a resettable 50 Amp circuit breaker (CB5) mounted on the cct board which can trip under some circumstances. If your 2017 has this same style BCC you might just need to reset this cct breaker. On my coach it is a bear to get into the BCC and care must be taken to ensure safe electrical practise is used (you dont want any 12v welding to occur). There is a PDF document link on the internet to this BCC with a schematic and full operational description. Search Google "FW221 BCC" for the pdf. I think it is labelled pdf "untitled" now. Maybe this circuit applies to your 2017 ACE.

You've owned this RV for over 3 years and you don't know about the USE/STORE (battery disconnect) switch?
