Whirlpool Icemakker problems

I have a 2020 Thor Quantum WS31 class C with a Whirlpool commercial refrigerator and ice maker.

I winterized the ice maker by jumping terminals L and V on the ice maker which pumps water out until I saw antifreeze start to flow out.

Now when I attempted to clean out the lines I connected city water and jumped the same terminals filling the ice tray with antifreeze attempting to let it flow until it was running clear. After filling the ice tray about 4 times the unit stopped working and now it does not make ice. It cycles thru the ice making cycle but it is not pumping any water into the ice maker. I fear I burnt out whatever the water mechanism is.

Anybody have any idea what maybe happening?

I found, least in my experience, that if you jump the terminals to open the solenoid valve for too long, it will burn out the solenoid. It is meant to be open for no longer than 7 seconds. Short bursts seem to be ok, but leaving open for minutes at a time seems to be detrimental. Its an easy replacement. I found one on Amazon. The hardest part was pulling the fridge out to get to the back. And that really wasn't that hard, taking 10 minutes or so on our rig.

Thanks for this info.

So the solenoid is behind the fridge in most cases?

Yes, on every one I've seen. It is where the outside water line hooks up to the fridge. Usually lower corner.
