Usually the inverter are under the bed behind the power center for Plant 750 coaches. Only ACEs 29.3 and 30.3 come with inverters and outside kitchens. . You can find this info by looking at the Features - Entertainment tab for ACEs on the Thor MC website.

Ops, I see the 2017 ACE 29.4 did come with an inverter under the bed.

I know this is an old thread, but what does the inverter on the ACE 29.4 do? (And my inverter is under the bed) New owner and if I’m on battery power, none of the 120v stuff works. When on shore power I hear the inverter running. My understanding of inverter are the change battery DC power to AC. And a converter changes AC to DC.
What am I missing?

If your inverter is an OEM install it was used to power the residential fridge and TVs. If it doesn't do that from the batteries then you have a problem. And you have the inverter /converter terms correct.

Interesting, as far as I know I’m the second owner. The RV dealer we bought it from sold it originally and didn’t mention any after market changes. When we picked it up and walked thru systems the tech did say the TVs and outside 120v fridge didn’t run on battery. Looks like I’ll have to get the meter out and trace wires.

The inverter on all Thor MC plant 750 coaches powers: the TVs and the BOMB (HDMI switch box), the passengers computer table outlet, outside kitchen fridge (if installed), duplex receptacle for a CPAP machine in the mattress support frame and the residential fridge (if installed).

None of the general duplex 120 volt receptacles are powered including the GFCI protected ones. Wiring a coach this way saves the wiring complexity and expense of an aux circuit box (load center). Generally coaches have to be medium priced ($350,000 and above) with a second inverter and a very large battery bank to have most of the 120 volt receptacles powered.
The addition of a second inverter or new very large inverter and huge battery bank with solar has been done by many on this forum including me.

Coming from a popup, with pretty simple systems that are readily accessible, the class A is interesting
I heard the inverter running today while plugged into shore power. Actually didn’t know what it was, so went looking. The tech that showed us how things worked said it didn’t have an inverter. So, the journey continues lol

Why would the inverter run when on SP? SP is supplying all the 12- VAC loads. Are you sure you didn't hear the CONVERTER fan running?

Most likely it's the converter...which does run on shore power...basically a battery charger that also supplies 12V direct. If you don't have a residential fridge, you most likely don't have an inverter. Most inverters are installed very close to the coach batteries.
