2018 axis 25.2 fresh water tank drain

Neither the manual with the coach, nor the special axis user manual from this forum has helped me. The fresh water drain is under the couch. The former owner said just turn the silver knob. It does sort of dribble out of the bottom of the coach. We are used to the drain swiftly draining the water! There is a blue hose next to the silver knob. What does that do? Are you suppose to open it to get some air pressure? At this rate it won’t be drained till tomorrow!

Looks like you have a 1/4 inch ball valve for the drain - pretty small draining area.

Without a zoomed out picture I can only guess the blue hose is the suction connection to the pump for adding anti-freeze for winterization.

Additional pics

Thanks for your thoughts. Attached is a pic of the entire area. There is another one of those silver knobs in the very back….and you did take me down a different path. I am used to the antifreeze ‘tube’ being a clear tube you just stick in the jar, and then turn on the water pump. Where the heck IS the antifreeze hose?

The other valve is the FW tank isolation valve - has to be shut when sucking in the anti-freeze.

The clear hose is part of the "winterizing kit" and has a 1/2" NPT male connector on the end that connects to the blue line.

Mine looks like yours.
My blue line is used with my own male clear hose to suck in anti freeze. My 30 year tech said a must do or pump and or pump strainer will freeze and break.
This happened to me.
Good luck

Thanks to both of you

Thought we were pretty savvy as we have owned 3 trailers and 1 MH before this one, but there are no manuals with good information (or anything that vaguely matches our setup), so I am very thankful for your insights and assistance.

YouTube University helps as well.

Notice how that blue pex tubing "tees" into the tube coming from the tank. Notice also where that silver valve is located next to where that T is... closer to the tank. When you close that valve, nothing can enter OR exit the water tank. So... closed is the "winterize" position.

As for draining the tank, the valve closest to the front of your pic - which 90° turns through the floor - looks to be the tank drain. Question is what's below the floor on the outside under the coach where that pex drain exits?

P.S. Try removing the cap on your gravity fill port while draining the tank. Air needs to enter the tank when water exits... maybe you have a venting problem??

Suggest you look underneath the coach for the drain hose, then you should be able to locate it above the floor. The valve might be under one of those foam globs. If it drains slow, there might be some construction plastic over the drain intake in the tank. That's possible, but not likely.
