Misc issues

We bought a 2019 Thor Synergy 24ST used with very low miles. Issues
1) none of the outlets work when using house batteries
2) can you turn on the house batteries when driving?
3)the winegard 2.0 extender doesn’t have a switch. Does that mean it’s hard wired? Doesn’t show up as a wifi option
4) Directv satellite dish only operates off generator or shore power. Should it work off house batteries?
Thanks

The outlets are 110 unless you have an inverter none of the will work without shore power or generator
Yes
Read the owners manual. Thor does not install a switch
No it will not work off battery power

Dave is correct on all counts. As for DirecTV, the receivers require 18 to 27 volts DC depending on the model and that voltage is normally supplied by a 120 volt plug in converter. Intern, the receiver outputs 21 or 27 volts DC to the LNB on the antenna. To have 120 volts available in the coach when not on shore power or running a generator, you need an inverter which takes 12 volts from the house batteries and inverts the 12 volt DC power into 120 volts AC.

Simple fix…
- just get a 1200-2000 watt inverter installed
Suggest you also consider upgrading your battery bank and adding a couple of solar panels

Then you’ll be able to “boon-dock” almost endlessly with just limited generator use.
Let us know what mods you actually go thru with.

Check the owners manual for the location of the inverter. There’s a button you have to push to turn it on. That will convert battery power to 110 V.

To use the Winegard extender you have to connect your
Phone or laptop to it first. It will likely have a WiFi name that doesn’t say Winegard in it. It should be the strongest WiFi signal you have. Once you are connected, you will need to scan to find the local WiFi.

But not all RVs have inverters.
