2018 Thor citation steps will not stay extended

When I first bought Rv switch on inside would work. Now steps will not stay extended w switch.

Welcome with your first post. There are several items that could cause this problem.....”some” of which are:


-the step control unit located in the step mechanism itself is bad (probably a costly fix).
-the control unit is sensing that the engine is running or ignition is on (key in ignition) which should always retract the step.
-toggle (override) switch is bad (unlikely on a new coach but infant mortality perhaps)
-there may be an in line fuse in the override switch circuit that is open (blown). Not sure where that would be but possibly in wall behind or near the override switch.


A typical step circuit is attached for reference but it may not represent what you actually have on your coach. Also Kwikee Step (now owned by Lippert) has documents on line that have troubleshooting procedures that may be useful. Be careful of fingers etc if working on live steps.....the mechanism is not forgiving. Good Luck.
