2018 Windsport 29M Wheel Simulator/Wheel Fastener/Lug Nut Info

We have a 2018 Thor Windsport 29M and on our first camping trip, we noticed when we returned from the trip one of the lug nuts on one of the rear wheels had fallen off! We immediately drove it to the dealer and it's waiting on a replacement lug nut.

I've read where there are simulators on top of some of the lug nuts that actually hold the hubcaps on.

Can anyone provide information about how to identify and remove these "simulators" and hubcaps to gain access to the lug nuts?

Thanks in advance.

Our old 1998 MH had simulators with the a couple lugs that held the wheel cover on. You have to look closely at the lugs to see the ones you can remove. If you get the wrong one it tears it of the wheel cover. I can't recall if there were more than two lug nuts that held the cover on. I think most of the new MH's come with simulators held on with friction fingers/tabs that hold the simulator cover on.

You should have received a tool when you bought your Windsport. It has a T handle with a socket attached to the end. The simulators hold the hubcaps on and can be identified by little notches on them.

I didn't get the tool with the T handle you mention when we took delivery so I guess I need to ask the dealer for one or order one from Thor.

Does this tool remove the entire simulator or does the simulator have a cap that needs to be removed to expose the lug nut underneath that the tool removes?

Thanks Kev

At our PDI the lug nut tool was on the counter. I asked the tech what it was for and he wasn't sure, he thought water heater plug. Looked close so we moved on. So when I went to put the water heater plug in this spring I discovered it didn't fit. Finally realizing what the tool was for I discovered I had already lost one and was lucky I hadn't lost more. My Hurricane has three on each wheel. They are the ones with the little dimples in them.

Thanks Dbadger777.

Shipment from Thor for the tool is scheduled to arrive today. I have found out that I have 3 simulators on each wheel on our Windsport 29M.

Can anyone that has a Thor Windsport 29m tell me what the part number is for the Lugnut Simulator tool? Should be stamped on the side of the socket at the end of the tool.

Thanks in Advance

Lug nuts Size

I own 2018 Windsport Thor 29M. One hubcap lug nut came off. Does anyone know the proper nut size. Or where I can get a replacement? I ordered a 14mmx2mm and the threads/diameter were too small. Thank you.

My 2015 F53 chassis used the:

Dicor V195F9EJN Enclosed Jam Nut which I got from Amazon but is no longer available.

Keep in mind that you have, for each wheel or wheel pair, the three simulator "lug" nuts and then, underneath the simulator, the regular Ford lug nuts that actually hold the wheel on. Make certain you are looking at the correct nuts.
