We just had a similar problem. After picking up our RV (for other repairs) at the dealer, I was following behind in the Jeep and noticed the step was out. Went right back to dealer. Repairman got under and sprayed a ton of wd40 on it and let it in a bit(that's all it would go), sprayed more wd40, put it out, more wd40, hit it in hard, more wd40..... You get it. Eventually it worked fine, he said it had alot of corrosion. We had driven the previos week thru snow and ice and salt.
