2019 Thor Miramar 35.2 dry camping no power to cooktop/gen/charging

Dry camping day 1 all worked fine I though. While driving I heard the ice maker drop ice. Setup camp notice frig wasn't to cold.
Made breakfast next day on cooktop had generator on AGS was running at 13+ volts etc.
Day 2 frig still not working cooktop fine. ice cream now soup
Day 3 early morning frig starting running.
Day 3 no power to cooktop frig is fine.

Gen is running from 7am to 10pm then goes to sleep mode. first two days noticed higher voltage on monitor in the 13v range

Now with gen on seems like no charging is happening how is this tied to the cooktop. volts with gen is 12.2 - 12.6 doesn't seem to charge.

Note: got rv to shore power and cooktop works fine on shore power but not on Gen. voltage jumps to 13+ on monitor

Any ideas?

AGSs don't run on anything (generator or otherwise).
All the AGS does is turn on the generator when the house batteries get below a set voltage.
This allows the generator to supply 120 VAC to the converter/charger (or inverter/charger if so equipped) to charge the house batteries if the USE/STORE (battery disconnect) latching relay is closed (USE).

But your actual problem appears to be AC power related (assuming your fridge is residential), with inconsistent symptoms. To compound the issue, the symptoms change depending whether you are on SP or using the generator. Realize your coach has two legs of 120 VAC (assuming you have a 50 amp coach) and both SP and your generator supply two legs of 120 VAC (SP is actually 240 VAC but that is not relevant to the issue) to the coaches' loads through an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).

So you need to determine if the hotplate and the fridge are on the same AC leg.
You need to determine if the ATS is working properly.
You need to have SP available to help you track down the symptoms.

Some RVs may also have an Automatic Energy Select Switch (AESS) that switches power between two different AC loads on the same breaker circuit; but that is normally limited to 30 amp RVs.

So after further check I have no power to the left leg of my breaker box. rear ac, water heater not working this side also has converter on it.

I have a cummins onan rv qg 5500 with two breakers that don't seem much like breakers. I reset them several times but no change

I don't have the wiring on the gen is it outputting on two legs? via those 30am breakers? how to test the output on this gen?

In your ATS.

Gen test
Top beaker off power to right side panel
Bottom breaker off (top on) no power 120v on left or right of main breaker panel (50/50)

could it be that top breaker on the gen?

Thanks for getting me on the hunt.. ATS or gen breaker

I'll try testing that top breaker on the gen first. I really don't want to replace the ATS

Thanks everyone for the help

You can make your measurements for 120 VAC IN on each leg from the generator and verify both legs are being transferred to the load side by making measurements inside the ATS. Should be much easier to reach than the breakers on the generator.

At the ATS its 120v on one leg only.
------------Test ATS-------------------
Black has 120v
Red has 0v
-----------------------------
Generator is Cummmins ONAN QG 5500 Model 5.5HGJAB-1038L

----- Gen test breakers -------
Breaker top tested 120v in and 120v out (back of breaker white wire & black)
Breaker bottom tested 120v in and 120v out (....)
while gen on shut each breaker off and the out side went to 0v
------------
After doing the test it doesn't seem to be the breaker

Anywhere else I can check on the Generator?

Nothing but wire from the generator's output breakers to the ATS input connections. Look at the transition wiring to the ATS - should be solid wire to stranded wire and Thor generally uses wirenuts to make the connection - but they don't do a very good job and this is a common failure point in the AC distribution system on their MHs. Check all the ATS connections.

16ACE27 Thanks for all your help FIXED
After following the flex conduit from the Gen it goes into a Jbox and there was the problem.

It was the nut behind the wire nut installer as you can see that black and yellow wire came from the top breaker and was not tied together properly.

Once again thanks for all the help
-------------------------------------------------
Trouble shooting seq
ATS check both legs power from gen
Check JBOX connections to gen
Check gen breaker 120v on white and 120v on black in on position
off position 120v on white and 0v on black (good breaker)

Have been using these for years in different forms. Much better than the old wire nuts. Each wire has it's own internal clamp. Twisting wire nuts seems to always challenge installers.

For any that wonder how the WAGO 221 connectors hold up, this video pretty much sold me:

And here's a blog post from someone who should be knowledgeable based on the quick bio at the bottom (YMMV) who is sold for other reasons:
https://www.rvtravel.com/rv-electric...leggo-my-wago/

Apparently Forest River is using them in their new RV builds based on that.
