Go 50 amp! Once and done!! You need an electrician to go into your main breaker box, so go big 😉
That’s what I did

Regardless run a #6 gauge 3 conductor with ground. You can then wire a 20 or 30 or 50 amp service as wanted. The extra wire is cheap. Doing it again is expensive. Wishing you had done it to begin with is priceless.

Using a common extension cord from your house/garage is fine for keeping your batteries charged, and running lights and such. But you cannot run the AC. I my case, that's no big deal because best practices has you running up the generator and AC monthly anyway. But if you're going to the trouble of having power professionally installed, run a 30/50A line, depending on your anticipated need.

For the price of wire, I went with the 50 amp.
If I want to work on something in the camper, it cools down much faster with both a/c's running.
I have plenty of outlets scattered around the exterior of the barn to charge batteries.
If I need to plug the vacuum cleaner in out in the middle of the barn, there are outlets on the side of the camper that will run it.

We purchased a 30-amp coach, 32-foot with one AC and installed a 30-amp service at the house. Wish we had gone with 50-amp at the time, because we just recently added a second AC to our coach and increased coach to 50-amp service. You may think you'll never need 50, but I recommend going that route as it ultimately is cheaper in the long run.

I ran a 30 amp line out to a pedestal. Make sure that you use a 110 volt 30 amp GFCI breaker NOT A 220 VOLT and have it wired into a 110 volt 30 amp receptacle NOT A 220 VOLT.

Often electricians make the mistake of wiring like a dryer with 220 volts which will cause much smoke, fire, sparks, and destruction.

We are putting one in at our house. Definitely beats the 110.

I was just debating over what would be best if I setup the side lots we just purchased and decided I would set it up for 50/30/20 just like they do in the RV resorts. Had 30 but now need 50 and if we did downsize we would still have the 30. I would rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

... Add some sources for water, sewer hookup, and cable TV: you'll never want to go back to the house!

What time do they pick up the garbage?

It must be easy to spend someone else’s money.

In my opinion it’s not possible to say what is “smart” based on the information you provided. Only you can decide for yourself based on how much it’s going to cost (which is a big factor), what you’re going to power while parked at home, and how much value you place on convenience. Some owners only want to power converter to keep batteries charged, and others may want to air condition or heat the motorhome.

What is also not clear (in addition to how you plan to use RV while parked) is how electrical upgrade is related to concrete pad. If pad is already done, is there a financial advantage to do electrical now? If not, and your electrical needs are modest, why not try existing first? These are types of questions only the owner paying the bill can evaluate.

Deferring unnecessary expenditures is often considered a smart financial move, particularly when there’s no associated penalty for delaying.

Great advice

Running a larger conduit is very inexpensive and allows larger wires to easily be pulled later

Remember, 120v not 220v. You could have a disaster if not careful.

Conduit? Not required for outdoor direct burial cable.

For the 30 Amp plug. The 50 Amp is 240 VAC.

Run conduit and avoid problems later,

Yes you can bury but is sure difficult to repair if needed

I have had ground squirrels eat into it
