Question 31W Tanks Heating Pads

Can anyone tell just how the Black and Gray tank heating pads work. I have a switch for each tank. What I don't know is the manufactory of the pads, are they both 12v and elect. and do they have a thermostat build in to control them when turned on. Nothing in owners manual about pads.
Thanks

I would also appreciate some info on the heating patches. When I bought my two year old unit, all the patches were gone (fallen off??), and I only have the wires dangling around there. This is the first year that I want to use my unit in the winter, and wonder where I can get the fitting patches for a Thor unit.

My 2016 Vegas grey and black tank heating pads have thermostats built into them.
One of them was falling off and before gluing it back up I wanted to test it to be sure it worked. I turned the switch on and nothing happened.
I found a bulge near where the wires went into the pad and figuring that it might be a thermostat I put an ice cube on it. After a minute or so the pad came on.

Also replacement pads are listed by tank size (capacity) . I found them on ebay, Amazon and places like Camping World.

If you type "heating pad" in the search you will find numerous posts detailing the pads and where to obtain new ones. Hope this helps!

Thanks for input I did get a message back from Thor about my question also. Also been told to make sure you have waste water in tanks when using pads and that the out side temp has to be cold enough for them to work, but I guess you found that out by using ice cube

What did you use to glue the pad back on?

Here is the manual for the heat pads. If you go to the Thor Web site under the owners tab and then owners resources, then input your Vin you will get all the manuals for the different items installed. There are additional owners manuals as well as the build schematics.

I second the Gorilla Tape. Had to tape mine back on over a year ago. Still there.
