Slideout leak

I'm still getting moisture on the bottom side of my slide-out even after replacing the speakers and caulking molding. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Picture attached.

That looks like condensation or splashed water, not a bead of water running?

The RV hasn't moved in months so it's not splashed up on there. Also, notice the drip coming off of the screw in the right-hand corner of the picture. And the "condensation" is only on the rear half of the underside of the slide.

Paul, are you by chance running your heater while the unit is cold inside? Shirley and I were doing that with ours during the winter and I was noticing condensate EVERYWHERE, especially on metal surfaces. The picture sure looks like condensate. We do not run our furnace anymore when we go to the rig in winter, we just go in and do what we need to do, and leave. Just a thought.

We're not running anything but it does make sense what you're saying. As I mentioned before, the water is dripping off that first screw on the underside so there's a leak somewhere but I'll be darned if I can find it.

Any moisture on inside of camper?
If you park it different ways (to get the water to purposely flow a certain direction) can you narrow it down from there?

I would check the sealant on your trim .....this trim tends to channel the water
around and under the slide...

If the slide out is closed I get water on the floor of the camper next to the bed. I leave the slide out open about 6 in., that way the water just drops to the ground.

Thanks for the picture. I've sealed all the trim and even replaced the speakers and it's still leaking.

We had about a quarter of an inch of rain last night so I pulled the rear speaker. It looks like it's still leaking through the speaker. May have to just plug up the speaker hole and put the speaker trim on the outside just for aesthetics.

I think I found the problem with the speaker. The gasket is too thin and is recessed and doesn't make good contact with the side wall. I put putty tape around the opening and reattached the speaker and we had some rain overnight and no leaks.

When I replaced the speakers on my old fifth wheel, I used raw rubber seal. It is used for door and window seals. You can also use closed cell foam window seal. If you have a window in your RV door, that is what is used to seal that window.

Closed cell foam: Amazon search on "

JVCC DC-PEF06A Polyethylene Foam Tape [Double-Sided, Closed Cell, 1/16 inch Thick]: 1/16 in. Thick x 1/2 in. x 36 yds.

You can find wider and thicker rolls as well.

Thanks for the information. I would think anyone who has the Jensen speakers would have the same problem that I had.

As a word of caution, I think that the slide only seals well when it is either in or out all of the way. On my Ace 30.1 , I see day light in spots when only closed part of the way.

You are correct. The only thing that keeps water out on a partially open slide are the wiper seals, they do not create a good seal.

I was having water on the floor in the bedroom and my slide is on the right hand side. I checked everything I could could not find where the water was coming from. It would drip off the corner of the bed towards the back and drip onto the floor. My last attempt to fix was making the motorhome slightly out of level leaning towards that slide. Last couple rains I do not see any drips .

Do you have external speakers on the slide out?

Have you caulked the molding on the slide out?
