Question 7.50 R 16 or......?

I have a question about the tire sizes. Here, I have an RV mounted on a GMC chassis with a 454 "3 overdrive engine. Currently it is equipped with Michelin XPS RIB tires of size 7.50 X 16". The expiration date is more than 10 years old. So needless to tell me I have to change them The decision is already made. The problem is the size of the tire that is no longer available. Would you have any tire sales website to suggest to me or what size could I install instead?

235/85R16 are almost the same height but are an inch wider than the 750r16's. If the width won't fit you have to go down to 215/85R16's but you need to check the weight capacity on the sizes to make sure they will carry the weight of your vehicle.

Thank for your answer. That what is my expectation about the «whidth» and the 215/85 should be a bit to small on the circompherence. thont you think?

Right. The 85 is the aspect ratio meaning that the height is 85% of 235 or 215 mm, so the 215 would be a little smaller in circumference as well as narrower. But the 215's are not designed to carry as much weight as the 235's. The 235's will probably be better - if they will fit.

Zidane,

On another forum it was discussed that a spacer and longer studs were needed to keep the tires from touching and allowing enough thread contact for the wheel fasteners. (235/85R16). I see the 7.5R-16 advertised by Power King and Samson brands on the internet.
