AC power loss

Suddenly while parked, all AC was lost, including shore power and Onan generator power. I reset the AC Main circuit breaker but no luck. Any ideas of the cause?

I think we need a little more info. First which coach do you have? Were you plugged into shore power when this happened? And you have tried the A/C on both shore power and generator and it doesn’t work? Does everything else work?

It's a Thor: Check your wiring to the Automatic Transfer Switch, specifically the wire nuts that connect wires together. Common problem.

A?C power loss

Sorry, I missed all the important info. 2018 Thor Siesta 24SS. Failure was while hooked up to shore power only minutes away from leaving on a trip. Yes, I tried the generator; still no transfer of A/C (I have a constant plug-in of a volt meter). The shore power checked at 120V but none showing in the RV. The DC is fine, especially with roof solar panels.

I agree with 16ACE27. If you have no 120v power at all with either shore power and generator and your main 120v circuit breaker is not open, then the next place to look is the transfer switch. The 120v power goes from the shore power plug and the generator to the transfer switch and then to the 120v circuit breakers. Make sure you unplug from everything and turn everything off before you fool with it.

Thanks for your input. I was thinking it was the ATS and searched all over but couldn't find it. Do you k now where the Switch is in the coach?

Usually the ATS is located just behind the Power Center. The power center contains the 12 volt fuses, the 120 volt circuit breakers and the charger. Manufacturers tend to keep all the high current devices close together.

ATS behind Circuit Panel?

I already looked there; nothing but the back of the panel. Of course, it's hard to get to , being under a slide-out bed.

Mine is in the storage bin closest to the power input of the shore power line. Call Thor Customer Service and have them email you the electrical schematic for your particular model. They are very responsive. Have your VIN at hand when you call.

you probably have a LOOSE connection, on the OUTPUT side of your ATS, since neither power source is getting thru to your Main Panel breaker box. Does your INVERTER provide power?

In the Axis it is under the bed on the passenger side.

ATS found!

Thanks to all who helped locate this unit! My wife, after trying to dismantle the bed, said there is no way they could get to a unit UNDER the bed, so we opened the outside compartment door (at the end of the bed). There, hard to spot, was a full, thin panel wallpapered like the wall it was attached to with 6 tiny screws. With the panel off, there was the ATS right in the middle and surrounded by a number of small junction boxes.
Thanks again, everyone.
