Chassis service in North Texas

Hello all,

I’m up to three Ford safety recalls on my chassis. I’ve called every Ford dealership within 50 miles of Northern DFW and they’ve all refused to even consider the work without even looking at it. Just a blanket “we don’t service motorhomes”. It’s a 24.1 on an E-350 chassis.

Any ideas where I can reliably get Ford warranty and recall work done around north DFW (McKinney)?

Based on what is stated on your post...you need to call Ford direct to find the nearest authorized dealer for recall work.

There are two that I believe that do, or will but it seem as if it may conflict with your experience within 50 miles? The problem is one I have used in the past and I will NEVER go back, really bad experience as they just ripped me off. I paid them despite the fact they were unable to do the work; so I would NOT advise you to go to them anyway (that was Rush over there on edge of Dallas / Irving) and the other I have never been there; but I see RV's parked outside all the time; so I assume if I ever need something I may try to go by there. It is Five Star Ford Truck Center in Lewisville.

Good luck.

Try these, we've had good work from both
Autonation Ford South Ft Worth is 58 miles from downtown Mckenney (several toll miles).
They inspected our Citation last yr. Planning on getting them to inspect, align and recall in April.
We've been getting the 15E05 recall notice from them.
They sell and service BIG Ford trucks.
682-277-2637 is their service dept, ask for the "big" truck dept.

Don Davis Ford is closer, on 360 close to 6 Flages. 877-840-8091
They did 2 recalls on our F53 and inspections a few years ago.

I forgot about Rush Truck Center, we used them a couple of times on the F53, can't remember why soooooo it must have been ok.
Better call first I don't remember them being a "Ford" dealer. 214-624-9100

Yes a Ford dealer that service and sell Ford Trucks. I add opportunistic dealer that are use to Commercial accounts to excessively overcharge.

I used them on play project just to get a relationship with them for future if ever needed. I was wanting to self install my Safe T Plus but had trouble get the U bolt off to install Safe T Plus mounting bracket. So took it by there and the said they would mount the bracket (Not the stabilizer bar for 1 hr labor which was around $170 ) I forgot the exact amount. So I wait 2 hours for them to get to which was not all bad being inside the RV. Then the Tech comes out and he could NOT get it off either They tried everything but just couldn't. Then they said they were going to use something to get it off but it may break the U bolt. So they wanted to order a backup U bolt just in case. The U bolt was NOT a Ford supplied part so they wanted me to sign to order custom part for $550 to have one made It didn't sound right do I call Safe T Plus Stabilizer in Atlanta. They talked to Rush on the phone after about 15 min I got the phone back and Safe T Plus asked me to take it to a Spring Shop they recommended. So I told Rush to let me hold off and think some more on this and I would bring it back if I wanted them to order part. They charged me 1hr labor. I paid the $170 and never looked back. I will NEVER go there again unless forced by a Military escort with tanks.

I took it to the spring shop who mounted the bracket in 30 minutes and charged me only $70.

My Winnebago dealer's rate is actually cheaper than Rush and the Ford Dealers, so depending on what it is, I would always go to them first. They have done all of Winnebago warranty work with a smile and we still have a item to replace ( bedroom mirror) left 6 months after the warranty is over.

Incidentally, Safe T Plus offered I drive the RV to Atlanta and they would install for free In hindsight, had I known, since I bought the RV in Florida and drove through Atlanta on my return trip to Dallas, I could have bought Safe T Plus direct from them and they could have install on my way back to Dallas.

I have trouble finding a place to change my oil and filter in my 2016 Thor 24.1 Axis... most places have a blanket rule so they don't have to deal with other RV issues.

I'm second owner and have not received any recall notices on my Ford V-10 and F350 chassis. Can you please enlighten me to what they are??? Thanks in advance [emoji1783]

I've used Five Star Ford of Dallas (they're on George Bush near Coit Rd) for oil changes and an alignment. They're a commercial dealer so have facilities for larger vehicles. Mine's a 28' on an E350.
