ACE 29.3 driver and passenger window noise... helpl!

We are now on our third year of ownership and still have a problem that I am unable to figure out. If you lock the passenger window, there is an extreme wind noise that appears. If you unlock it, most of the noise goes away. The drivers window does the same thing. The solution so far is to leave both windows unlatched when traveling down the road.

The first drivers window exploded while underway, and of course Thor would not replace it saying glass breakage was not covered. When we took delivery this window would not slide open and the dealer "worked" on it to make it slide. Likely there was some kind of strain on the glass.

Anyway, I would like to know if others have experienced excess wind noise from the side window(s) and how they solved the problem.

I had the same problem. I sprayed a dry silicone in the window grooves. Fixed the problem.

So you had the same problem when you latched/unlatched the windows?

Yes Bob.

Dave, SuperD, suggested the silicone spray. i put it in the window track, top, bottom, and side where the window locks. Sprayed, moved the window back and forth, sprayed again. Did this a couple times. Window moves very easy now and no more wind noise. THe window was hard to move before doing this. Now its easy.

THe silicone can should have a straw so you can direct the spray. Towards the end the straw fell off into the window track then down into the wall. Glad I was done when that happened.

Had the same problem with my 2017 ACE 29.2. Found out it was the latch itself when closed it was pushing the main window away from the slide window just enough to cause a slipstream effect between the windows allowing the wind to howl between them. Once I trim the latch down, no more howling wind.

I think mine was the same problem but using the silicone spray allowed the window to close properly or more flush stopping the problem

Bob, we had the same thing going on with our 29.3. The window is not closing all the way. Spaying the silicone works. And I'm not sure why they stick just enough as to not allow it to close all the way but it does. To be sure it is closing all the way, when you latch the window you will see it will pushthe window out if it is not closed all the way.

I am going to have to try the silicone spray on mine.
I usually leave it unlocked ...just incase the door lock breaks again
