ACE 29.3 USB Charging Station In Bedroom

In the area under the television there is a wall outlet "Charging Station" with four USB ports. I've tried all four ports and all four are dead. I have 12 volts coming to them, so that's good. I also got out my volt ohm meter and tried to determine continuity between the red and black pigtail wires and the contacts in the outlet - nothing. Patch cord works fine in the outlet on the dash.

I found on the back of the wall outlet the name "Sigma Elkhart Indiana". Checked their website and found the socket, part number 12VOTABUSB - here: https://www.sigmaswitches.com/PDFs/u...ng_centers.pdf

Anyone have any experience troubleshooting these?

Thanks,
Mickey

Common Thor installation error is to wire these backwards. Swap the + and - leads and see what you get.

Checked them - white coming off coach harness is +; grey is -. White is wired to red lead on outlet; grey to black. So that should be fine. Thanks, though!

Thanks! Looks like a couple of those are in my future. Though I'm not sure I really need two double outlets. Wonder what I could put in that second hole... Hmmm.....

Also can't help but wonder why all four of these are bad. Looks like the housings are molded together. May have to break one open and see what's up.

Well, egg's on my face! Just rechecked wiring, and the white is supposed to be negative - not positive as these were installed. Just reversed them and back in business.

Thanks, Ted/Melinda!

I just discovered the bedroom USB outlet in my Thor Vegas was not even connected. I fished out the wires which had the crimp connectors attatched. Checked voltage and crimped connectors to USB outlet. All is now good!!
Does Thor have any inspection or quality control??
