Advice needed on a sewage leak

I brought my Vegas to CW to check for a leak from pipe leading from black tank, back in August. They found no leak and thought it may have been condensation, since I was camping not far from the ocean. In September I went out again and again I found leakage on ground at the same spot. The water had a funky smell, and the pipe was moist on bottom, couldn't see/feel anything on the top or side. I have emailed service person, I am working with, several times over the past three weeks with no reply. I think it is leaking from where the pipe connects, possibly from a poor seal. I am traveling again next week, and since I can not get help from CW, I am asking you for advise. I would like to spray the connections with Flex Seal or Rust-Oleum Leak Seal. What do you think? Will it work? Photo of pipe is attached with area circled where I felt the moisture.

if its under warranty.....make them fix it
if the glue seal is not working from where the pipes connect they need to remove it and replace the connections.

flex seal or the like is a strap on temp repair.

I agree. If you have a warranty in place: make it their problem!
Good luck!

The pipe looks like it needs to be replaced completely. It would be an easy fix for the dealer. They sound like they don't want to fix it under warranty and want you to pay for it. Stand your ground and have the service manager come out and look at it.

Don't waste your time on flex seal. I have tried it before and it doesn't work as advertised. It looks like the joints need to be redone.

Looks like your leak is at the joint on the right.
Could you clean the bottom of the pipe, Dawn Dish Soap will make it look new.
Then check your leak often and post a new picture.

Looks like it should be a easy few $ but dirty diy.

I twisted the joint on mine a few weeks ago. A small leak, a couple of tablespoons over a day.
I wrapped a diaper, with a shot of clorox poured in it, around the offending joint until it healed itself.

Buy a pack of diapers and duct tape for now until you come to a decision on what to do.
It's a dollar or so and buys you time above all else.

If dealer will not come through.

You have multiple options. You could split a rubber coupling (Fernco) and maybe place clamp/rubber over area. You could clean and then wrap with flexseal type tape then put split rubber coupling on it. They also make blowout patches for pipe which are rubber backed by sheet metal and clamps. Have even had luck cleaning, drying and coating with proper heavy body glue at letting it dry. Then coating it again. That was used to stop leak on 16" diameter cooling tower line.

I have a 24.1 Vegas and shower drain was issue. Clamping ring would loosen and drip off drivers side leaf spring. I pulled the strainer out and cut down and slid a rubber connector with clamps over entire assembly. Clamp ring can loosen but is contained within rubber between hose clamps. Been great for over 2 1/2 years now.

No real pressure on joint so does not require a high pressure seal.

I wrapped a pen point size leak in a friends gray tank pipe with Fusion tape until he could get it into a shop to be fixed. That was 3 1/2 years ago and not a drip yet.

yeah....don't think I'd go for flexseal on it either. I'd consider drilling out the socket and gluing in some new pipe and fittings.
or I'd look into doing a little ABS slurry welding.
ABS pipe, right?....or is it something else?

many years ago I read some stuff about dissolving some ABS in MEK solvent. Assuming ABS pipe.... so ABS bits from some pipe or fittings.... or something like a few lego bricks. Use the MEK to mix up a thick 'paste'. Smear that over the pipe and it will weld into the pipe, and as the MEK evaporates out it'll leave solid ABS. You'd have to clean that leak area down to new clean plastic first of course. (maybe a file, or something that will cut through all the gunk and glue) I've never actually done this myself so I'd for sure do some trial test runs first to aget a feel for it.... I can say that I've read and heard of this from many sources (not this application exactly, just the concept of welding) so I'm confident it would work, at least to some degree

Anyway, good luck with whatever you end up having to do!

First off, sorry for your situation. To me a picture is worth a thousand words. It looks to me like you may be distracted from the source because of what you see with your naked eye. It looks to me that the very evident discoloration to the right of your red circled area is where you should be focusing your attention to find the source. There is the darker multi-colored area as well as the white crusty looking area above that where I would focus my attention first. Another thing is... clean that mess up so you can see where it is coming from. Lastly and with all due respect to respondents on this site, some of the proposed remediations are unbelievable! It’s ABS pipe. You can purchase everything you need at the local hardware store, Home Depot or Lowe’s to fix it right yourself. If you don’t trust your skills then get a plumber or friend that can do it. Good luck with your situation.
