Aerolite hybrid - bunk outs need new seal rubber

Hi all: I'm new to RVing. I bought a 2009 Hybrid in Oct and am wishing I hadn't. Lot of leaks, but I'm slowly dealing with them. My question is; can I replace the old gasket, from where the bunk door compresses against the body when you shut it, with latex weather stripping instead of the a product from an RV place. It's about half the price and says minimum compression and marine use.
Thx for any advice

I don't see any reason why not. I have replaced quite a few seals with other products. It's not under warranty, go for it. Just keep a good eye on it to see how it stands up.
