Aft Camera Diagnosis Issue
I'm trying to validate information that was provided to my close friend. He has a 2015 Tuscany 40DX. The other day when he picked up his coach from a service provider that had been working on turn signals his aft, rear view, camera would not work. The left side and right side cameras worked fine. When he returned his coach to resolve the aft camera issue he was told that the problem was with his house batteries. Two of the four AGM house batteries would not hold a charge he was told. The service provider went on to say the left and right side cameras were powered by the chassis batteries and the aft camera is powered by the house batteries.
I find this explanation questionable, I accept the fact that I might be wrong but this explanation seems implausible to me. Even if the aft camera was powered singularly by the house battery system wouldn't the engine alternator likely provide sufficient power to operate the camera unless possibly 1 or more of the relatively new, less than 2 years old, AGM batteries is completely dead. Keep in mind that this coach never does any boon docking and the batteries are never stressed. The owner has even incorporated an after market battery shut-off switch for the house batteries as additional risk reduction.
Any technical commentary pertinent to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
