Air Conditioner is really loud

The A/C in my Thor Class C which is a former rental RV is really loud. It has no fan speed control which seems odd to me. It is either running full blast or it's off. Once it gets cooled off inside it would be great if I could turn down the fan speed to medium or low. Is this normal or do most RV A/Cs have a fan speed control. Would it be possible to add a fan control to this type of A/C?

Download the installation manual and look at how the thermostat is wired. My Coleman 15k unit has a thermostat with a hi/low fan control.

They all seem to be fairly loud. You have to crank up the TV volume etc. to hear over it. It gets annoying but be thankful it it does a good job of cooling.

Yeah, they are all loud. I have also been told to only run the fan on high. Low seems to cause cooling problems.

I'm guessing your thermostat is not the original.

As far as noise... I reduced the noise on mine by applying tape that is used for ventilation. When I removed the cover I noticed several parts that left small gaps in the ducts. I sealed up all the gaps with the only intentions of improving air flow and surprising also reduced the noise.

My AC has a high and low fan speed. I rarely use low and when I do you can't really tell the difference noise-wise.
