Air Filter and Water Separator 450 ISL

Decided to change my filters this time in my shop and found both the air filter and water separator were different than the numbers Freightliner had provided

The air turned out to be a 094973004 by RACOR FILTERS which was shorter and a larger diameter than the Fleetguard number provided

Same deal for the water separator which turned out to be larger as well and was below and not a common filter carried in most auto parts stores or diesel shops along the interstate

ABP N122R50419 by FREIGHTLINER (alliance filter) or Fleetguard Racor Fuel/Water Separator FS19798

The previous changes were done in a shop in Springfield and no notation of filters being different than the list

Interesting anyway and now have the correct separator spare

You can cross any filter number to a fleetguard number by using there website free of charge and most heavy truck dealers or parts for heavy trucks carry them.

The air filter doesn't have a crossover and the separator wasn't available in about 10 places we checked

It was available 45 miles away at Freightliner but not at the truck stops service shops or Napa and so on

napa Part #: FIL 6898 air filter 225.99
napa part # FIL 3727 water separator 35.99

I think that the water separator should have been a fs19727 10micron filter

Out of curiosity I checked the Napa stores near here and not one carries the air filter or the separator. Apparently neither on is a big seller. They could have them tomorrow of course

The air filter don't show the inlet and outlet, however the Fleetguard was 5.5 instead of 6 in and out and longer. the photo of the filter shows the 90 to be down lower than the Racor

Given the price the Racor is about 100 dollars cheaper so you have to wonder about that one as well

I am going back with the Racor and Alliance filter, the Alliance is 10 micron and the Racor seems to have the same filtration specs as the higher priced Napa

Since none of the places carry the larger Separator at least where I have checked there certainly will be one in the storage bay

Thanks for the followup

The FS19727 is a cartridge instead of a metal filter

Fleetguard Racor Fuel/Water Separator FS19798 seems to be the direct replacement to the alliance

094973004 by RACOR FILTERS

This is the air filter my 450ISL uses which after checking seems to have the 90 a couple inches closer to the end than the Napa and per the other reply is different than a couple other crossovers as well with both the inlet and outlet being a full 6 inches. This was a bit more complicated than seen on the surface
