Should be on the top or side of battery.

I've been carrying an Everstart lithium in the toad for almost 10 years. Only used it once, but it worked.

Get one from Rugged Geek.
1000 amps: it'll spin over just about anything!
(I think they even have a 2000 amp model now...)

Jump Pac

My Thor Synergy MB Diesel runs out of starting juice after two to three days; if I don't disconnect the battery (I now have it hooked up to a trickle charger). I've called AAA to come out for a jump several times. They always have a "Booster Pac ES5000 12v 1500 Peak Amps" and it works every time.

Here's what I carry with me (in my motorhome while on the road, as well as in my car the rest of the time): "Clore Automotive Jump-N-Carry JNC660 1700 Peak Amp". I chose this one based on a tow truck driver's recommendation and their marketing information - "For over 25 years, Jump-N-Carry has been the go-to brand for tow truck drivers, auto mechanics, rescue vehicles, car auctioneers and anyone else in need of a reliable jump starter." I also like the fact that it has a 12 Volt DC Outlet to power accessories.

It keeps a charge for a really long time, and I have helped many a person to jump start their vehicles.

OP hasn't been back to the Forum since post #3. Hopefully others will benefit from the multitude of good answers.

Yeah you use a hand crank like the early gas engines, but bigger.

If it makes any difference.....I'm benefiting from threads like this one. Our Ford Bronco is an energy hog! A few days in the garage and our connected feature starts sending notices that systems are shutting down to save energy. This IS a common scenario with this model vehicle. Never down enough to not start but in a remote locatron, who knows?? Anyway, I've wondered about a jump pak and found this thread interesting!
So thanks!

If you fail to properly maintain the battery and/or allow it to discharge to the point it won’t crank the vehicle.

I’ve had a B&D jump pack for years and it has been used once, to start my zero turn mower after a long cold winter. For the last two years it’s been packed away in a storage room.

If needed, I will call Coach-Net. That’s what they get paid for.

Small diesels have glow plugs. VW uses 12 amp Bosh glow plugs. I assume Merc uses the same. 72 amp draw for 10 to 20 seconds when it is below 40 degrees ambient. Then cranking a engine with a 16.5:1 compression ratio, thus a group H6 AGM battery. Then there is the anti-gel additive you added last week (hopefully) to raise the cetane rating.

I carry a NOCO boost GB150 with me in my Mercedes. Have used it once and it had no issue cranking my diesel over with ease.

Boy they also make a 4500 amp for 10-liter gas or diesel engines. Here is a link to it on Amazon: Rugged Geek Trail Industries has stock. Amazon also has one by Autogen. If you have a diesel this maybe the one for you. Not for the Class A diesels though. I have an older lead acid close cell jump starter that works well for our car and other things. I also have adapters with fuses so it can power anything. It did start my diesel dual battery GME Denali once when the batteries went south.
