How to use Battery storage controls

New to Class A RV. Trying to understand my 2004 hurricane 32r battery storage switches. 2 switches one is chassis and one is coach. I can get the chassis to go green. But the coach is always Red? Also when I look at the levels command center it shows 12v green. It is hooked up to shore also. Any help appreciated.

Red and green are not statuses, just indications.

The switches control battery disconnects. The green light for the chassis, when on, indicates the disconnect is shut (the battery is connected to the chassis buss).

The red light, for the house (at least on newer coaches) just indicates the house DC buss has power - it does not indicate the position of the disconnect.
The disconnect can be open (battery not connected) but if SP is connected or the generator is running, the converter will supply power to the house DC buss and the light will be lit, but the batteries will not be charging from the converter/charger.

Copy thank you that helps a little. What do each control? When I read chassis I think battery that starts the engine and operates everything your car battery would. And does house operate the RV portion? Fridge, reading lights, microwave, Ac etc? Sorry for my inexperience. This RV doesn't have a manual. And it kind of just fell in my possesion.

Awsome, thank you. Last stupid question. When and why would I want to disconnect either?

Only if you are not using the RV for more than a few days AND you are not plugged in to SP (Shore Power). Disconnecting the batteries removes all loads from them so they don't get drained.
