Auto Level question

Hi everyone!

I have the Lippert hydraulic auto leveling system. I have the engine running turn on the control panel and press auto level and nothing happens. I have recalibrated to zero point and still nothing happens when I press auto level. Parking brake is set and engine running,

I’m not new to RVing but I am new to the electronics that are in my 2017 Four Winds 31E. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance and have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,
Kim

Does it work in Manual?

If not, it sounds like the hydraulic pump is not operating. Check in/around your house battery compartment for a 100 amp DC breaker and see if it's tripped:

The LCI Level Up system needs to see 12.7 volts minimum at the panel from the chassis battery. If the voltage is below that the panel will not turn-on. The lead wire from the chassis battery has a CB inline and that can be tripped. I am not familiar with Class C wiring. If the panel illuminates and the jacks to not move, the check the LCD display for the low voltage message. If that message appears, wait for 4 to 5 minutes with the engine running and then press the enter and all jacks retract simultaneously to reset the system. As stated above, you can trip and reset the 100 amp 12 Volt DC circuit breaker in or near the house battery compartment. If the house battery's voltage is below about 12.2 volts the low voltage will also be displayed.

It may seem odd, but press the auto level button with two fingers. Ours seems to be finicky if the entire button isn’t pressed. After all the above is done, of course.

When you start the engine, do you see the lights rotating on the panel? When you turn the panel on, do the lights power up? Do you see the arrows light up telling you which end/side is low? When you press the auto level button how long do you keep it pressed?

I have to press my button for a count of 3 before it activates.

I think it should not level with engine running. It assumes you may be moving the motorhome.

Ignition off. And parking brake set.

Read your manual and learn.

Some have that interlock. Others, like the OP's system requires the engine to be running so the alternator can push the DC voltage higher. In reality, if plugged into SP the converter can do that but you will still need the ignition to be ON to supply power to the panel.

If you can manual level (and I'm assuming you can, since you said you calibrated it) I would try calibrating again, and make sure you are on a mostly level surface before trying auto level. If the sensors detect too much extension required, it could stop auto level from working. That reminds me you should also check the sensors. If they are broken or disconnected, that might cause the issue. That's all I can think of, best of luck!

When you turned the Lippert panel ON, did it light up in normal fashion and with NO alarms ?? Based on your description, I assume YES.

Then, most likely the hydraulic pump is not working. Check the DC breaker for the hydraulic pump as first step.

Give Lippert customer service a call. I've had good luck with them.

Mine requires engine running, I guess for sufficient voltage/amperage.

You say the parking brake is set. It may well be but you should see a light on the dash that says it is set a red light. If that red light does not show on the dash for parking brake set, it could be something as simple as that switch it's not working or it's broken
