Awning Fabric Protection

Coming back from my long trip, the shop found out my awning has a long scratch from the beginning to the end. Apparently some rode side branch did it.

My question is, is there any way to protect the awning from being scrached? Hope it's much cheaper and more effective than replacing the awning. Thanks for your advice in advance.

above is the The best I've found.
Very thick
Very uv safe
Just the right amount of stretchy.
So far it hasn't shrank(shrunk?)
Tested by miles and miles of greenhouse seams.

And for other repairs (or your awning if you prefer a cover up color)

You can use many kinds of tape to repair and protect the awning but in reality it is a consumable item.

Hi, Duck - Thank you for the mending tape. I should definitely get one for the repair. Does anyone know if there is any protector (plastic or aluminum) that can prevent it from being scratched?

All i did was type in three words

Rv
Awning
Cover

My suggestion isn't a mending tape in your application.

It is a thick replaceable barrier acting as a shield against damage to the awning material.

For what you pay for a hard shield you can possibly buy a whole new fabric for the awning.

Thanks for your comment. I guess I'll just have to live with it. Probably put on some protection tape before it gets scratched.

We had a small cut that ran end to end on our awning and we used Eternabond tape it worked for us.
