Awning fuse and ot circuit breaker locations 23U

My awning will not open.
I checked the fuse in coach under kitchen bench and it was Good.
I heard there may be a circuit breaker or relay under the hood that would act to prevent awning from opening when ignition is on. Does anyone know which circuit breakers and or fuses could affect awning operation?

Hi, I am not familiar with your coach, but typically there is at least one lockout relay in most coaches which disconnect power to various systems (like awning, slides etc) when the ignition is on. It is a challenge to find them on any coach. Thor basic wiring diagrams sometimes show them. If you are sure you have found the awning fuse, did you see if there was 12vdc to ground on it (if fuse is good it does not matter which side of the fuse you touch with the voltmeter)? Another relatively easy test is to also look for 12vdc at the awning in/out switch. Also you can then verify the switch is good too. Accessing the back of the switch might be a little challenging and others on the forum (not necessarily with your coach) have indicated in the past that their awning fuse is sometimes in the wall near the switch as well.

Check to make sure you haven't retracted it "over itself" versus under. It's a common mistake. While extending, if you keep holding the button, it will actually retract in the reverse direction. Then...when you push "retract" it will extend. If in this reversed position, when you push "extend", it will do nothing as it's trying to retract but it's in the home position. I did this one evening by pushing the wrong button...learned the hard way.

I don't have access to my 23U right now so going from memory:

-Under the dinette seat (The side where the fuse panel is) there is a relay to lockout the awning. (There are two relays in there- 1 is inside a standard electrical junction box- this is for the TV outlet lockout. The other one is a standalone harness and is for the awning lockout.)

-Under the hood, towards the top (closest to the windshield) there are multiple in-line fuse holders; one of these is for the awning lockout.

YMMV... some stuff on my 23u definitely doesn't match the electrical diagrams.

v/r,
Mike

Follow up......

Turns out the motor was fried....
But for future reference on a 23U.
The fuse is a 15 amp located below kitchen bench seat.
The ignition lock out relay is under the kitchen bench seat.
The power wire to the awning is the green/black wire.
Since the awning was stuck in the closed position I reached up under the right awning upright and found power there.Visually verified no pinched wires.
New motor is 145.00 at Amazon and very easy to replace. About a 25 minute job.

Glad you are "awning again".....so to speak. Thanks for letting everyone know the key details and what the problem was. Happy camping.
