Awning issue - opening slightly while driving

Hello All,

I recently changed out my awning motor since it had died on me. Now I am noticing that after a long drive at hwy speeds, the awning creeps open about half a turn. I don't think that half a turn is damaging, but I am concerned it will eventually blow open at 70 mph running down the road.

Anyone experience a similar issue or know of a fix that would mechanically keep the awning completely secure and fully retracted?

Thanks!

Awning motor is the brake and the awning should not extend at all. Check to make sure it is installed correctly. I had an awning installed incorrectly during manufacturing because of Dometic’s incorrect instructions. The awning extended at 55 mph on I95. Not a pretty picture. Domestic paid because they had a recall out but Forest River didn’t notify owners.
