Unhappy Awning keeps "popping and cracking" with wind

My awning makes "popping and cracking noises at the elbow joints where it connects to the RV and in the middle joint. The cracking and popping noises usually happen when there's a slight bit of wind, but also when extending the awning. The cracks and pops are loud and very disconcerting because I don't know what's causing them. Is there some adjustment that I'm not doing? I sprayed a dry lubricant on the joints to see if that helps but that's not working.

I had one break at the elbow and it was a disaster. The metal pieces at that joint rub against each other and work themselves very thin. I ordered the parts from etrailer and they were a bear to put in. If you inspect the area where the "overlap"...where the pin runs through that elbow, you.msy see what I'm referring to. It's a poorly designed, unlubricated joint. I often would pull the outer end of the awning down which over worked that elbow. They made a horrible noise when retracting...until....

Hi all check every screw and bracket holding the awning to the MH. There were screws in mine that were not in the plate under the mh skin. Also screws were lose.
Kurt our 30 year tech put in new longer screws.
All is well.

I checked the screws on the plate that attach to the MH skin. I replaced two screws with bigger screws. that wasn't the cause of the popping sounds.
