Awning Maintenance

Our 2019 Thor Windsport 29M awning began to squeak while retracting. I’m looking for recommendations regarding a safe and effective lubricant for the hydraulic. Any help would be appreciated.

Awnings are not hydraulic. The awning owners manual should specify which lube to use if any.

Great, I found it. Recommends paraffin wax or silicone spray on rafter arms and support arms. Mahalo!

Awning roll up

So should the awning be rolled up over the tube or under the tube?. I’m thinking if it’s rolled up under the tube it could create a place for leaves, dirt, grit , etc to accumulate. Suggestions?

Actually did this by accident. Started rolling it under and noticed that it would, indeed, be a place to collect leaves, dirt, water. Definitely recommend rolling over.
