Awning replacement

Well I had a real boo boo yesterday. Tore up the awning so bad I unbolted the 2 holding big bolts at both ends an took off. Walk of shame across the RV park to the dumpster carrying a mangled awning. My best mess up story so far. Anyone have any links to a complete awning kit? Thanks.

I am not sure but I think if you want a complete Carefree of Colorado awning, you have to go through a dealer to get it. I don't think they sale to the general public. I just looked and Etrailer sells complete awning replacements.

Depends on your Thor model and year.
If you want it to look OEM and replace with OEM parts,
Then you’ll need to know your awning manufacturer.

I know that my ‘17 Vegas is a Carefree awning.

The manufacture's model number for all Thor install equipment is usually located on one of the bedroom closet doors. Most manufacturers of patio awnings sell directly to owners or repair places. Carefree of Colorado is especially good as supporting their products. The factory and some of its dealers sell most parts on Amazon.com, but since there are 10 different awning types and several options, be certain they match before ordering.

OPS on putting your awning in the dumpster, I almost did
Check this link for Carefree awnings, I haven't been able to find any "Latitude" anywhere.

Paul
I purchased a replacement awning (fabric only) from Carefree directly. Customer service was great.

The Latitude patio awning is OEM only, but if you plead with them that your coach originally came with one, they will usually sell you one. You could order about one half of the parts you need and after they arrive order the other half. I had to order about $300 of parts after my Lattitude hit a stop sign. No problem installing the parts on the coach. I did have to rent a power scissors lift to install the parts (DW does not do step ladders).

Carefree does sell to the general public. Unfortunately, I know this because I did what the OP did.

Carefree sold me a Latitude replacement awning with no questions asked. Not cheap, but the perfect solution.

Lost mine due to a strong wind gust that came up without warning. New awning was $3,850.00 and my insurance covered it all other than a $500 deductible. Challenger 37 DT.
Good Luck

Adjustments for mild wind?

I am not at my coach now, so can't check the closet door to see who the manufacture is.(didn't even know that it might be there - Thanks)

Based on the link the someone posted... It looks like I probably have the "carefree" model.

When other folks at a campsite have there awning out in a mild wind, I feel like I need to pull mine in, since it is already bouncing around.
I do have the tilt set to the steepest angle (not all that steep).
Is that causing my problem?

I thought about getting a couple of telescopic poles to put under the corners and then strap them down at 2 angles each.
The commonly sold telescopic poles for tarps don't really seem long enough, especially in hilly terrain.
