Stand alone AC for 2019-28FT Forest River Tracer??

I have an AC in subject camper that struggles to keep the RV cool in 90F+ degree S Louisiana heat. It gets to the mid 80s F during the mid day sun. It does cool down when overcast and at night. I am considering purchasing a SereneLife
10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner or similar.

Has anyone had experience with this type of portable AC unit in an RV? If so please advise.

Thanks in advance!

Bull

We used a portable for several years and it worked great. We bought ours a Lowe’s for $280 and vented it out a side window. Typically used an extension cord through the same window to the shore power 20A outlet. We only took it on trips we knew would be really hot. We also used (and still do) the machine at home to cool our bedroom down to 67 at night without cooling the whole house. Eventually we added a second hard wired rooftop unit to the RV when I found a used but virtually new one at a good price. The portable worked fine but it is a bit heavy and it takes up some room. But if you only need it once in a while it’s far and away the cheapest and easiest option.

Get the two hose model of portable A/C. They are much more efficient. The single hose model is just exhausting your already cool room air to cool the compressor coil. That air has to be replaced with hot outside air.

Got one in my garage. Input air through the north wall and exit air through the cieling. If I turn it on before sunrise the 17'x26' never gets above 82 F on a 1000 degree day. Mine is a 14,000 btu model.

YES you definitely need one .
Looks like your biggest problem will be which window to use as a vent, the window to the right of the TV, maybe.

Just be aware they are a little noise but well worth it

We've never had a problem with the water ours makes, even in N TX, S Louisiana
Be sure to update us
