Axis 25.3 bathroom door knob prevents entry when slide is in

I just bought an 2018 Axis 25.3 and noticed after i took possession that you can't open the bathroom door wide enough to use it when the bed slide is completely retracted. The door knob hits the counter edge. Before I put it on the repair punch list, I wanted to know if everyone's is this way?
It looks like a standard doorknob and by swapping it with a lever type handle I might get enough room to slide by but it seems an obvious design flaw to me, unless I'm missing something.

Left as is, I would have to always stop the RV and extend the slide a few inches out before I could open the bathroom door enough to get in. Seems it shouldn't work that way. If they are all that way then do we just put up with it or is there some tested workaround?

Thanks
Alison

BTW: Brand new RVer and poster on this site so apologies if I don't get it right the first time and have missed something obvious.

some rv floorplans just don't have enough 'room' for everything, including sometimes the 'room' you might feel you need to enter the bathroom, though it may work just fine for the rest of us - our's is tight, too, but not impossible, if you really need to make use while traveling.
Our's was the opposite 'handle' issue - the lever type handle kept getting caught on our clothes anytime we would scoot past the bath door to the rear of the coach...switched it out with a 'regular' handle and it works much easier.

I would make sure the missus isn't mad at you when you do get in there, or you may find yourself begging her for a couple inches, to get back out!
