Axis 25.5 dash A/C not working

Anyone needed warranty repair on their Axis/Vegas dash A/C system? My question is, should I go to Ford or my RV dealer? I've read on some forums that others have been told by Ford dealers that, since Thor modifies the E450's A/C systems, to fit their motor homes, that it's up to RV dealers to repair. Others have been told by their RV dealers that its Ford's problem. Because its an 82 mile round trip to my RV dealer, I don't want to get in to the Ford/Thor hassle.
My problem:
Yesterday, while returning home to Florida from Charleston, SC, we noticed hot air coming from our A/C vents. Temp control was set all the way on cool but it continued to blow hot air. I put on the A/C compressor switch and reduced some of the hot air but couldn't over come it. Since it wasn't hot outside, we closed off the dash vents and opened our windows and continued home. As we drove, periodically, the hot air shut off and normal outside air was coming in thru the system. Then, after maybe 10 min., it would start blowing hot air again. Seems like the temp control valve, that controls the flow of hot radiator coolent, that creates the warm air, is turning off and on, even tho temp control is set on cool.
Anyone experienced this? If so, was if fixed by Ford dealer or your RV dealer?

After we received our 2017 Axis the dash A/C didn't get cold (picked it up in early March so couldn't tell it wasn't working when tried during the PDI), I investigated and found that the compressor never engaged, contacted our rv dealer and they said the problem was Fords and that they would never work on anything they considered chassis related. I called Thor and they also told me to take it to a Ford dealer and gave me the number for the motor home division who gave me a number for a Ford dealer. Long story short, the problem was Thor had incorrectly wired the chassis to the coach.
The Ford dealer repaired the wiring and all was good, however the Ford dealer did say the problem was Thor's, and while they were more than happy to make the repair, the rv dealer should have fixed it.

Thanks 'upnyfolks'. Our dash A/C has worked fine up until this last trip out, so don't think its a wiring issue, unless something's come loose. I've contacted Thor Customer Care to see what they tell me.

Catch 22 situation , the condenser and compressor are Ford items installed with the chassis built but everything in the dash is an aftermarket kit installed by Thor.
I believe all or at least most of the wiring belongs to Thor as well.

Old chief, in having the exact same problem with my ACE 30.2. Please let me know if you find out anything, and I’ll do the same. Frustrating...mine is a 2017 model.

Also, the light on my ac button (with snowflake symbol) lights up when I press it, but the “recirculate” button doesn’t light up when I press it. Is yours doing the same?

The compressor seems to be working properly. I really think the problem with our unit is that whatever controls the flow of coolant thru the heater core is not working properly. It isn't completely closing off the flow of coolant, when its turned off, so we continue to get heated air from our dash vents, even tho the temp control knob is set all the way to cool.. That said, whatever is going on doesn't go on all the time because, as I mentioned in my original post, as we were driving on I-95 yesterday, we'd get warm air for 20 min or so, then normal cooler outside air, coming out of our dash vents, so it appears to be opening and closing, with the temp. know set all the way on cool. I sent an inquiry to Thor Customer Care this morning asking whether I should take to Ford or our RV dealer. So far, Thor CC hasn't responded.

Our 2017 25.4 had an a/c issue that I found shortly after accepting delivery, being a retired HVACR tech. I found the problem quickly but did not repair as I was afraid of voiding the warranty, after many pgone calls and two trips to first the ford dealer ( not a ford problem) then back to camping world ( not a dealer problem). Thor finally admitted it was a dealer issue since ford ships the compressor with the chassis and thor supplies everything else. Long story short, camping world doesn't fix cab a/c's but will send it to a shop that is equipped for said repairs, our trip out west would have been pure hell without cab a/c. Side note we have added blackout thermal curtains between the cab and coach so that while rolling the cab a/c will freeze you out if you so desire.

I recently updated the information on our dash A/C problem in a second post on this topic. Thor Customer Care apparently now monitors the posts on this website and they contacted me, in response to my second post on this issue. They advised that about 90% of the dash A/C system is designed and built by Thor and that my problem was very likely Thor's responsibility. They further advised that about the only things Ford is responsible for under warranty is the compressor and condenser coil. So, I'll be taking our Axis to LaMesa RV in Sanford, FL for them to check and hopefully repair.

Glad to hear they are stepping up. It's been a big problem. Ours failed as we started on the first big trip. We went right back to CW, 2 techs, 2 hours and no clue. August on I-5 for 2200 miles with no dash AC. I gary-rigged 2 ducts from the forward coach AC vents, running the genny for the roof air. Two very unhappy campers. I finally got a tip from the forum and passed it on to CW service along Thor's dash schematics. CW service said Thor doesn't supply the diagrams. WTH!?! I was also told early on that itvwas a Ford issue .
Sure enough, the primary wire to the Thor bussman fuse block was never tightened!
