Axis electrical wiring
Trying to figure out the wiring on 22 Axis.
Already looked at on-line schematics and did not find an answer.
While underneath the RV:
On driverside behind generator ( THE wires do not come from the generator, they are routed around the generator) there is a group of wires going into the back wall of RV.
One wire is a large diameter light grey wire. Do you know what this wire controls? It is larger than the others in the same group. All other wires are white with colored stripe.
Thank you.

I can offer a few guesses:
The generator requires the following:
A starting circuit, something like #14 gauge which is wired to the starting relay.
A starter circuit, probably #2 or so that goes to the starter. My 2021 Thor Axis 24.1 Power Distribution diagram shows this as being orange so I doubt that this is the large grey wire you are seeing.
120V power output, at least #10 gauge and typically in a black and white pair with a bare ground.
Behind the generator there is wiring to the coach tail lights and to the 7 pin connector.
Also there is wiring to the bathroom (on the 24.1) but I think that goes above the floor level.
So..... I suspect that what you are seeing is tail lights and the wiring to the 7 pin connector including the power to pin #4 of that connector. That pin #4 is at least #10 gauge while all of the others are smaller. That would be a logical group to be bundled together.

This is why we ask for pictures. One persons large gray wire is everyone else's conduit.

More info: 22 Axis 24.1 Photos below
It ain't conduit. That would have cost $3.75 more.
These wires come from in front of generator, around generator and then are stretched to the rear drivers side back corner and go into the back wall.
I plan to splice in longer pieces so that the bundle is not stretched like it is.
Am I wrong to alter Thor's great work?? I would like to know what the larger diameter wire powers.
I believe David EM is correct!! Thank you all for your willingness.

The pictures rotate when posted here. They were taken correct side up.
That makes it harder for you all see figure out the relationship on the RV.
1st picture is not right side up. But you can see the lower driverside corner where all the wires go inside the wall.

You can usually see the wiring at the back of the 7-pin connector. See if those wires match what you're seeing in that wire bundle.

Unless you need the slack to install a spare tire underneath the back end of your Axis, I would leave it alone. On mine Thor wired it tight and with wire ties that hold it in place. But if it is solid and isn't flopping around (which you can correct with your own wire ties), leave it alone. Crimped splices aren't nearly as strong as wire.

Thanks for the information and suggestions.
I will look into the back of the 7 pin and see if it is a match.
Appreciate it very much!

The grey wire looks to be typical 110 house wiring. If it’s going to the back wall I would suspect it goes to a 110 outlet in the rear bedroom.

That is debatable if you use a proper splice and the proper crimp tool.
I have had to run aviation wire and installing them in aircraft can be challenging at times. Often we use an old wire as the pull wire spliced to new wire to install. Sometimes the pull wire breaks but it is never at the splice, always the wire itself.
Our splices.

I am surprised how many (dozens) of wires under the chassis are loosely tucked up and still exposed to brush, winter roads etc....
Part of my "prep" has been trying to clean some of the bird nests up and secure them up higher and sheath what wires I can.
I'm pretty good a splicing electric wire, here is my last job. Don't need no fancy crimper!

Can’t help you with where it goes or what it is for but I believe it is the gray outdoor 120 volt burial wire pretty much weather proof which my go to some 120 volt outlet etc.
