Fridge keeps shutting off

Hi all I’m hoping you can help. We have a 30ft Salem by Forest River. We are at a seasonal site for the year and we are having an issue with our fridge running without shutting off on it’s own. So we can get the fridge up and running on electric and everything seems fine. Then after a while(sometimes hours/sometimes days) the check light will come on and the fridge shuts off. We are not tripping any breakers in the breaker panel and the fridge seems to be the only thing affected. Would any of you have any thoughts on what might be causing the check light to to come on and the fridge to shut off?

Exclamation

Just a guess - Possibly a brief power failure or surge in the campground's power?

That aside - - Welcome to the forum!

If there was a shore power momentary outage then likely radios or microwave would be blinking. I assume you have set your fridge to Auto mode and your coach batteries are charged and use/store is kept on? The RV fridge requires 12vdc when operating. You could check the fridge gas burner area for loose debris, insect nests, rust flakes etc in case that debris is interfering with normal gas operation. In auto mode, if shore power and 12vdc are working the fridge should default to use the electric heating element automatically. If shore fails, the control board should start using propane to operate the fridge. Does the fridge check light come on when you switch from Auto to Gas (forced to use propane only)? Check the external fridge access area for loose connections etc. If all looks clean and dry you might have a flaky control board.

You don't say what fridge you have but the "Check" light is also the Gas light in many fridges and only means "Check" when blinking.

So what is your situation?
Is the gas even on in the trailer?
Does the fridge work on gas?
What are the switch(s) positions?

Lotsa unknowns here.

If you had it on shore power and lost power the fridge will try to switch to propane, but sometimes it fails. On my Dometic refrigerator, if the control is set on "Auto" and the check light comes on it means the propane failed to ignite. It will attempt to restart three times and then shut down. Then one needs to turn everything off and restart.
