Axis water heater

What size socket does it take to remove plastic drain plug from water heater. Can I get a new plug anywhere like Ace.

Depends on the brand of heater. The Suburban heater that plug is an anode rod to prevent corrosion, if its an Atwood it's just a drain. Mine is the Suburban & the rod is 3/4" threads & I believe a 1 1/16-1 1/8" socket & should inspected/replaced a couple times a year depending on water quality & water usage.

15/16 inch socket or wrench. You can get replacements from Amazon. Not sure about local hardware or home improvement cents.

I stole the idea, but I added a braided hose and shutoff valve instead of the drain plug. Now it's easy to drain the tank anytime and without having water all through the compartment.
