Dealership suggestions

I bought a 2021 Fourwind 28z in Jan. The walls on both sides of the fidge are bowing out, wall in bathroom is peeling, ceiling has an eight inch long bubble along the seem near cab, and the graphics are peeling and bubbling up. Does anyone have any suggestions on what dealership will do the best warranty repairs? Thank you

You usually have to use the dealership that you bought the unit from to service it under warranty. Most dealerships do not want to work on another dealerships sale. It is not like buying a car where you can go to any dealership that sells that make car to have warranty work done. You can look around for an independent shop that does warranty work, but need to have it approved by Thor.

I agree
Especially becuz there’s a lot of work to do
And you do not want a dealer to perform the work

Suggest you call Thor, followed by letter with photos
Get an appointment, might be 90-120 days out.
After you drop off…you might have to drive home for a couple weeks while it gets fixed properly
Then, sell or keep

That’s how I’d handle

If you like the motorhome, create a numbered list word doc and have dealer start the fixes or use independent service tech. I used a dealer near me for big fixes and other failures later used local independent tech. Without local tech WE ARE NOT CAMPING

Are you kidding me? Most dealerships don’t want to work on the rigs they sold either! And “warranty service” is a total joke! I was happy to receive this message:

We were happy to see this message from Thor warranty services:

Good Morning,

The claim submitted to Thor has been approved for goodwill coverage.

Thank you,

The problem is that the approved items were items they submitted as “no issue”. The important items were denied because we were a week after expiration date. Oh yeah, the dealer would see us after the warranty date but they already had a list of the issues.

So, find a local service person. I also learned that if you have electrical issue, a regular electrician can probably work on it... but ultimately, if you can’t do it yourself, prepare to open wallet. Most people in this forum know what I’m talking about... we love our rigs, but it’s not because of the great quality of the manufacturer or the attentiveness of the dealership.

Yes, I’m angry

Why would you let the folks that screwed it up the first time have a shot at fixing it? Contact a local repair tech and have them fix it. The money and time you spend driving to the factory would be better spent in your local economy.

Arkansas just beat Texas and you worried about getting all of these major issues fixed on 9 month old brand new RV WPS

Congratulations on your 28Z, and Welcome to the forum.

If it was me...

I would write up all of the issues and get pictures and send to TMC, I would follow up with a phone call. I would also go back to Dealer I bought from if that is feasible to see what they can do. I would accept the willing effort of ANY Authorized Thor Dealer that may try to fix. But I would watch the calendar. The closer you get to 2022, you just need to bite the bullet and take it to Indiana, in the long run it may be your best play.

Get the pictures and document this to Thor with an absolute sense of urgency. While you are at it, go through everything else with a fine tooth comb.

Good luck.

I made that mistake. Took my rig back to Middlebury for a slide adjustment ( not a Schwintek ). On the 30th it goes to the dealer so they can fix the slide right.

Final 2 year warranty punch list with about 1 large issue (slide) and 4 small issues.

I won’t waste the money going back to factory service.

I know exactly what your talking about, I had several issue with mine and I could do all the work myself as I am a Cummins certified technician, but retired and the warranty company wouldn’t allow me to do the work and the company who did the work in Elkhart Ind. did a crappy job that half I will have to redo now that my warranty has expired.

You must have went to the same place I did for slide issue, mine did work just slowly and they had it most of last winter when I got it home the slide now goes out crooked and jams so I measured it when it gets stuck the rear is out 3/4 in the front is out a 1 1/2 but they said it was fine when I left, my fault for not checking it first

It’ll never happen! Take it to a first rate independent RV repair shop or to the factory service center and get it fixed. That’s about the only realistic option.
