Awning Emergency Override

Hi All-

I have a 2019 Thor Hurricane 34J with a Carefree of Colorado electric awning; the Latitude model.

In my semi-exhaustive research on how to manually retract this awning, (should the need arise), both by examining the rig, & looking online, the only thing I found was in the manual on the C of C website:

"EMERGENCY OVERRIDE

If power to the vehicle is not available, the awning can be safely retracted by jumping the motor using a 10V-14V power source such as a cordless drill battery or car battery."

Not much of an "emergency", in that the above "solution" presumes that the awning motor is still functional, & simply lacks power.

I've looked all over for one, & nowhere does it mention a fitting to attach a drill, socket wrench/extension, etc., in case of motor failure.

My question: Does one exist, or is it possible C of C didn’t provide this?

If you have a specific location for a manual retraction fitting for this make & model, please share. Or even how/what to release to simply roll it up by hand. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I haven't "missed the boot"...(that it's hidden under)[emoji57].

Thanks!/Rob

Disconnect the wires from the motor ( serves as brake) roll it up by hand, reconnect the wires and secure the awning with tie downs for safety.

To retract my Carefree awning (different model) I remove the endcap that does not contain the motor. There is a hole which fits a 3/8 square socket. A ratcheting wrench allows me to retract it, so for emergencies I always carry the appropriate bit.
