That's your battery disconnect switch. It typically should be left connected (ON position) any time you are using the coach... including driving. It's usually only turned OFF to disconnect the batteries while in storage, or extended period of sitting idle.
If you have any solar panels on the roof, it should keep your batteries topped off even with the switch in OFF position.
