Stuck Electric Stabilizer Jack

Have a 2018 Thor Synergy. Drivers side rear electric stabilizer jack is stuck retracted. Other side moves both electrically or manually. Do I dare try using an impact wrench. It’ s like it wedged when retracted.

I use them rarely since I have auto leveling system. But am anal about keeping stuff working properly.

I see you have no responses so far.....so I'll admit I don't know your coach or much about stabilizer jacks. Attaching a link that might have some useful info though. I would suggest not hammering your gearing without full inspection first, just in case the cause of the binding can be easily overcome in some other way.

We had the same issue on our 2017 24F the Lippert stabilizer on driver side would bind and not lower. Some gentle kicks would free it while the wife actuated the switch. Fortunately we had warranty yet and the entire stabilizer set was replaced and no issue now.

Update on Stabilizer

Actually found 30 amp DC relay burnt to a crisp in house battery compartment. Biggest concern is what caused it and if other wiring has been damaged. Have appointment for June 8th for repairs. There is a smell of burnt wiring near jacks as well.

Thanks for posting an update on your problem. If the gearing/mechanism was jammed somehow, probably the DC electric motor windings were drawing high current through the control relay contacts when you operated the up/down switch. I would think there should be a protective fuse or breaker in the motor drive circuit (and a thermal overload inside the motor) that should have tripped open. Of course that increases the "build" cost and may have effectively “reduced” a need to repair......cost to owner.
