I'm finding myself in the same situation. The Balmar display doesn't see the battery bank and Thor cut out the fuse. I have located the shunt and the red wire. Do I need to be concerned about the wire being hot? I don't know of a way to totally kill the power in this thing?

Just my experience..... no concern at all. I just cut it and the stripped the ends and re-capped it.

It's low voltage anyway, and you aren't completing any kind of circuit to get shocked even if that were an issue. It worked for me and I was surprised.

Thanks you! I cut the wire, spliced it back together and I'm back in business.

You are more than welcome! Glad I could offer my experience.

Of course I hate that we have to do these things ourselves....but at least we have each other out here on this board.

I've had to pop the bed and undo that wire again. I thought of actually putting a little switch somewhere. Just a thought, haven't done it.

Hello, I have the same issue. Do you need to leave the master disconnect OFF before splicing the red cable and connecting with the wire cap? Thank you.
