Balmar Smartlink Issue
I just got to an RV Campground today and my Balmar monitor is not working. It’s displaying the following message: “No service available for the selected device”. I’m not sure what to do. I’m currently on shore power so I believe I’ll be fine for the night. Anyone can help me figure this out??
Thanks

Have you tried restarting the system or calling Balmar’s Customer Support?
The procedure for restarting should be in the system operation manual.

I tried restarting the system and still got errors. I ran the Xecho Test and got 112 errors.

Balmar Support
I was able to talk to a Balmar Tech support person. I was able to fix it by doing the following:
- Right above the fuse box you should see the SmartShunt with a black and red cable connected.
- I cut the red cable and then reconnected using a wire cap. Once I did that the monitor rebooted and was back online.
I was told that Thor removed a 5Amp fuse (you can see it in the Balmar SG200 manual) and did a splice there.
My unit have been working fine since then.
Hope this help.

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply,
I remove the frame of the fuse box but I’m unable to locate the Smart Shunt with the black and red cable.
Any extra info will help : )

Pdf Image
Let me know if you can open the attached PDF. You should see the part I circled right above the fuse box screwed in the back. You want to cut the single red cable and splice it back together. That should reset the monitor.
Let me know if it works for you.

See picture
This is the cable and where I cut it. Then just reattach it with a wire cap.
Let me know if it worked.

Very clear
Ok thanks.
Your explanation and your pics help me so much
It is clear for me now.
When you cut the red wire and reconnect it happened a “reset” .
Am I right?

Yes. You need to go then to the smartlink monitor and hit continue. You should see that in the screen and the system should go back online.

Maybe ??
Hi,
Just another question (we never know)…
With your 2 x 100 amp reliable lithium battery and 3000w inverter are you able to run your microwave and A/C on 12 volts ?

To be honest I haven’t try it yet. I probably will test it from the house. I did install a 30 Amp outlet last week.

I think the ac and the microwave can only run plugged in or off the 2x100 lithium. I tried on the house power and it tripped my 15 amp breaker, I believe the ac is 21 amps. Also with the 200 AH system it only ran the ac in my Tellaro for 3 hours with my dog in the vehicle and than everything shut off that ran off the inverter.. Lucky it was not too hot out.
