Battery conmection

I have 2 12V 50AH batteries connected parallel. Battery one positive post to battery 2 positive post and same for battery 1 and 2 negative posts. House positive lead is connected to battery 1 positive post and negative lead to battery 2 negative post.

But there are also positive leads connected to battery 2 positive post that go to some other stuff.

Is this correct hookup? Or should ALL positive leads come off battery 1 positive post?

Either one. Fit is what matters.

I was wondering because on battery power the DC cuts out after only 5 minutes of lights on. I suspect the cheap FLA Continental batteries are shot. They show 12.8 volts on battery tender but I suspect not drawing any amps. Going to replace with VMaxTank series 31 125 AH batteries and make sure they stay charged.
