Battery disconnect faulty?

Will a faulty battery disconnect switch cause some electric issues such as steps not supposed working, generator not coming on. But most all other electric on plugged into white power.

Steps are normally powered from the chassis battery.
The house battery supplies the house DC buss if the disconnect is closed and no SP is connected.
The house battery starts the generator regardless of the status of the OEM disconnect. If an after market disconnect is installed directly on the house battery bank it can prevent starting the generator.
On newer RVs with electronic touch screen controls the OEM disconnect has to be closed to power that system to start the generator using that system.
On SP the house DC bus will be powered by the converter and most DC powered loads will operate.

Dead house and chassis batteries could cause your symptoms. Have you measured the voltage at the batteries using a voltmeter? The battery "status" display is useless if plugged into SP.
