Power Cord Reel

Is there such a thing as auto extend and auto retract power cord? My 2012 Thor Tuscany 42FK has the auto retract. It would be awesome to find something that extends the cord automatically also. Any info out there? TIA

Wouldn't that be pretty much like trying to push a length of chain down the road ?

But if it could automatically find the proper outlet, and plug in...

the day I need a power out cord reel ( or any kind of cord reel) is the day they put me in the ground.

And what is the best color? I like Navy Blue for the most obvious reason!

Hey, some of us here are old and grouchy...we've earned the right to be a little sarcastic, and maybe a little off topic. No offense intended, of course.

Gotta admit to being a bit of a neat freak when it comes to bin space. If there was a simple mounted hand reel, I could see the benefit as long as it dint take up to much space. My humble opinion only of course lol

I have often wanted a retractable shore power cord, but none the motor homes we've owned were set up so that could be an option. I found a few on the Northern Tools website, but they are only rated for 120-volts at 30 amps. The problem with retractable cord reels is that the current must pass through slip rings, so they essentially have moving contacts. I didn't find any for 240-volt, 50 amps.

One of this type could be put in a storage compartment and wired to the shore power circuit.

When we were boaters, we had a CableMaster, which was power in & out. The boat power cable was a lot heavier than RV cables (both 50A). RV cable is a lot lighter and you don’t fall in the water.
