Battery hold down steaps

We have a 17 Quantum WS31. Today i tried to release the bstteru hold down straps. Found they had been oriented so it appears the only wayto reach the clamp device is to jack up the rig and scoot under. Am I missing a simple way?

The simplest way? A razor knife... They are a royal pain in the arse!

They sound more secure than ours... We only have a couple of nylon straps with a bow-tie knot in them.

Hard to remove and re-connect the nylon straps on my new Quantum RW28 house batteries. I replaced these with white cable ties -- available at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Thread the cable tie through one side of the slot that the nylon straps used.

I've had dozens of boats, RVs and cars through the years on which I have done this trick. Makes removing batteries so much easier. Just snip off old cable tie if you need to remove battery and replace with new one.

I just bought a brand new Quantum RW28 -- this cable tie was my first mod!

Ended up sliding under the rig and loosening properly. Switched end for end. Now i can get to the mechanism easily and it works well. Switched the Harris Batteries for Trojans and whe Convertre for a Progressive. Hopefully done with batteries for a while.

That's what I thought too. Then I drove around to all those chain parts stores and no one carries the straps anymore. It took a 30 mile drive to Camping World to get replacements.

I have a windstar and it too has a pain in the patuckas strap too, which didn't last very long either. Got the replacement at Walmart but putting a couple of big zip ties might be a good solution.
