Axis/Vegas dining table

One of the "sockets" on my table is coming loose. The reason is simple. The base sockets (on the floor) are 21" OC. The sockets on the table are 19" OC.

My assumption is that both sets of sockets should be the same distance apart. However, I'm also thinking that a slight (maybe 0.5") difference might provide some useful amount of tension. Before I start re-drilling holes in the table, would anyone care to weigh in?

I like the offset idea.

I'd also like flush-mount taper-head 1/4-20 through bolts and some Liquid Nails.(just for the overkill thrill)

Maybe just the liquid nails and the stock screws....
