Battery removal in storage

Just curious. I am taking my RV to a lot for winter storage. It won't have power. I was planning on taking the house battery out and bringing it back home with me. Should I do the same to the chassis battery or are those a bit more weather resistant? I'll be pulling it back out again in December so it will only sit a month or two, which it has done in the driveway with no problems.

The Chassis battery will be just fine; if it's only going to be idle for a Month.
If you were to physically disconnect the Coach Battery: it would also be okay.

I used a bayonet style switch...

Pulling it out seems like over kill. Consider too, that you need to start the generator monthly to keep it in prime operating condition

I like to start up the motorhome as well, every month, and let it run until the moisture stops spewing out the tail pipe...anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes depending on outside temps.

I've done this for years and seems to work well for me.

I put mine in storage and oh about every two weeks, when I started it, I made sure to put the battery from store to use, run the motor and generator about 15-20 minutes, made sure the refer is off along with the propane, check for mold, check the lites inside, maybe run the slide out just enough to lube the seal, then put it back. Maybe change any extra things i want to change, Look for any animals moving in and after shutting it down I make sure to put the use /store switch in store. Oh yeah, look for any low tires cause sometimes.

Awesome. Guess the storage place is going to get used to seeing me. Saves me some work though.

Yeah, moving the batterys is a lot of work. Not to mention the battery strap is a PITA, then you got to figure out which cable goes where unless you zip tie them together as you remove them one post at a time and color code them with tape. Better just to leave like it is and maybe every couple months, check the water there.
