The Solenoid mechanism is a commonly repaired item. It's an inexpensive part and a fairly simple DIY job.

Sounds like the Solenoid is stuck (fused) in the ON position.
There's alot of voltage running thru those contacts inside the solenoid switch.
So much so that the contact points get corroded.

If you're not hearing a solenoid "clunk" when you alternate the USE/Store switch ON to OFF...then it may be stuck in either the ON or OFF position.
In your case, it may be stuck ON.

SmithGarnat -- has anyone with your model, year provided the information that you requested yet -- namely, where is the latching relay that the USE/STORE activates? One of the most pressing question asked on this forum always seems to be "Where is my ______?" (fill in the blank).

If you haven't located it yet, call customer service (877-855-2867) and ask them where the relay is for your year and model. I think many of the responses you've already gotten are correct -- the latching relay is not working. It's easy to change. Finding it? -- not so easy.

Replaced latching relay located under the bed. System now works fine. Thanks for all the advice.
